Dr. Movitz obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology from William James College in Newton, MA in 2003. She completed her internship training in Geropsychology and Geriatric Neuropsychology at the Bedford VA in 2001-2002. She subsequently specialized in Geropsychology and Geriatric Neuropsychology during her fellowship in 2003-2004 within the Boston VA/Harvard Medical School Psychology Consortium.
Dr. Movitz has held a private practice since 2005 and provides psychotherapy for adults ages twenty-five and above with a special focus on work with older adults. She currently serves as an Allied Health Staff at Nashoba Valley Medical Center where she consults on the Geriatric Psychiatry Unit.
Dr. Movitz sees older adults as well as their adult children for support during times of transition due to serious medical illness or disability, cognitive impairment, change in residential placement, bereavement or other significant life stressors. She provides neuropsychological assessments for older adults to determine level of cognitive functioning and how this might inform their treatment needs.
